We do all types of camera and lens reviews and comparisons focusing on portraiture, using Guam's Scenery and Guam's beautiful models. We do our best to focus on the real world usage of camera gear, and not get too technical in specs since you probably know the specs anyway! lol kick back and enjoy our videos :) We try to upload whenever we can :D
Leica M10 for Portraits feat. Althea
Really thinking about what one camera system that made me really happy over a decade of always switching gear, it was the Leica M system. Got a good deal on a Leica M10 and put it to the test shooting portraits with Thea. Used the Leica 50mm Summilux ASPH lens for this shoot, and wow this lens has such a unique look, makes me regret not getting this lens sooner!

Leica M10 Unboxing
Переглядів 780Місяць тому
After selling my Leica M9-P, I found myself without a camera connection for a while. I decided to return to Leica rangefinders, so I sold all my Canon gear and purchased a Leica M10 along with a Voigtlander Nokton Classic 35mm f/1.4 II MC Lens. The Leica M10 is now set to be my main camera for portraits and events. I'm still working on controlling my gear acquisition syndrome (G.A.S.), so I'm h...
Canon RF 50mm 1.2 Unboxing

Traded my Leica SL2-S for a Canon R5 with RF 24-105mm. I used to have this Canon setup a couple of years ago, during my trip to California 2022. I wanted something a bit better for event photographer, and needed to free up some funds. I opted for the Canon RF 50mm 1.2 lens, for my portrait lens. I have been very interested in this lens since it was released for the Canon RF system. Filmed on lo...

If you are looking for an alternative to the Leica 24-70mm 2.8, the Sigma 24-70mm 2.8 DG DN is it!! Very sharp and very fast to focus! It was raining on the day of the shoot, but Tomo suggested we shoot at Tokyo International Forum, we shot indoors and outdoors in the rain! This focal range was perfect for this location! Thinking about my next Tokyo trip end of March 2024, I wanted something lightweight but great image quality. Leica Q2 came to mind, but the Zeiss ZX1 has always been at the back of my mind for about a year. I finally was able to get one at a good price from B&H Photo and Video, first ZX1 came in defective, the but second ZX1 that B&H Express mailed to me came in perfect!! and just in time! Film...
New Year New Gear 2024 (Fighting G.A.S.)

Late upload on this video, filmed earlier this year January 9th, 2024. I sold all my camera systems, started over, and chose the Leica SL2-S and Sigma lenses as my main and only camera system. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome), as my photography hobby is just getting too expensive, especially during the local economy were all the prices for food, gas, and utilities keep increa...

Sony a7RV unboxing - selling a7CR

Just couldn't use the Sony a7CR with having EFCS, and no way to disable it, plus the size for me even with the supplied grip was a bit too small. Now thanks to Luis who is always hooking me up, I get his A7RV that he is selling to replace the a7CR, a7CR isn't for me, but maybe it's for you? a7CR does have the newer touch screen interface as shown in this video. Do you have any photoshoot videos of this lens on your channel? Love to see how. I am planning to buy for my Canon R6
Sorry I did not do a shoot with this lens on the channel, but you can use this for portraits, and it will kinda be like environmental portraits :)
2024 and different generations of cameras. It doesn’t get any better than that. I’m inspired until this day from the gear and the photo shoot. Outstanding😊
Thanks for being a subscriber! :)
This is a pretty old video but still found it useful! Glad I found it. I have a GFX50R and although I sometimes get amazing pictures from it, in high contrast scenes noise can be quite awful. It is great that you took more challenging pictures to make a good comparison. Few UA-camrs do that. The AF is also not fantastic, I have missed shots because of it. I am thinking of moving to film (Pentax 645N) so if I do that I may want to swap the Fuji GFX50R for a Pentax 645Z. I am now using mostly Pentax lenses on the Fuji anyway. The selection is broader and I really like the rendering.
Thank you for comparaison. I like the Hassy color better personnaly, althought i can understand that Leica can be better in use, but after all, what remains ? Feeling or Picture ? ..
Nice camera and photo. Sorry to hear you are selling it while i have spent several weeks to find my zx1. Would you pls pm me when i can find one? Thxx
Nice one... great demonstration of another one of my dream cameras...
Thank you :D Hope all is well with you!
@GuamPhotography good thanks... just completed a Master's degree... so I finally have a little bit of spare time...😁
@@1stfootprint_art Nice Congratulations!!!
Has the ZX1 listed on Fredmiranda already been sold?
yea man!! Back in Leica!! Lovely!!
Congratulations! Creat camera! Thinking about to buy used M10-R
It’s always good when the model is interactive with you . Makes it more fun to watch . 👏👏👏
It's very interesting!
Bingo * You make me float up like I’m on millions of bubbles
Woow thanks for Sharing
Ur my new inspiration!!!
Oh My God! Your video is really Enormous Graceful Frame
Very nice
Camera is great and the photos on LCD looks even greater but the edited photos looks like clicked from Sony cameras. Focus more on leica look I might have to say.
Thanks for your comment, I did use cinematic edit in LightRoom, guess it made it look more Sony like....
GAS can't be cure. I thought that I gonna stop my GAS after sell all my gears and get Leica. Now it's getting worse haha. Congratulations for your new camera, enjoy.
@@mr.prasit6535 hahahaha oh no!! I’m starting to think you are right, I was telling myself the other day, since I’m always filming on my iPhone 15 pro max, I may need a Sony camera dedicated for filming for this UA-cam channel, but they’ll mean I have 2 cameras !!! No!!! Anyway please let me know if the next video release, which is me using the M10 for portraits, looks okay with the 15 pro max filming it. Will release it now…
@@GuamPhotography Okay, I will watch it. About dedicated VDO for camera. I think iPhone (I use 13 pro since I still use the simcard )or phone in general is good enough for filming. When I backpacking with my friends, I also bring my XH2s for Video but I end up using My phone and action cam more for VDO ( due to compact size and easy for my friend to use). Now, I am still deciding that I gonna sell my XH2s or not since I don't really use it that much. At the end of the day, for me as a hobbyist, story is important than high quality ( I lose a lot of money before get this conclusion but lesson learned...). Anyway, that all of my opinion, at the end of the day, personal preference of everyone is different.
@@mr.prasit6535 thanks for your comment :) I been editing in HDR and iPhone 15 Pro Max does a good job, video released here: ua-cam.com/video/o5RrQqiIsxs/v-deo.html
Nice pick up, I will be on island in September, hopefully have some time to get together
@@ikakau yes let’s!!
Keep filling up on GAS. haha
@@clxproductions2452 hahahaha and this kinda GAS is expensive!!
Should you compare the same apurture iso and shutter speed.
I have had the excellent Sony 135mm 1.8 GM for 5 years now, although it is a very sharp Lens, I rarely use this Lens now, because it is big and heavy, so I use the excellent Voigtländer Macro APO-Lanthar 110mm 2.5 which is more compact and Light weight, the Voigtländer 110mm is sharper at 2.5 and 2.8 than the Sony 135mm ! Last year I went through some of the best photos taken with the Sony 135mm 1.8 GM, most of the photos was between aperture 2.8 to 5.6, only very rare larger than aperture 2.8 and those photos with aperture 1.8 to 2.5 was not among the best photos, so I do not need aperture 1.8 for a 135mm Lens ! I am thinking of getting the excellent Zeiss Batis Apo Sonnar 135mm 2.8 T* which is much more Light weight than the Sony 135mm !
Is there any option better than this specially for wedding? Sony i mean .
what a incredible work from you guys:) this camera feels so amazing to play with it and I'm so proud of Miyuki, my lovely friend 😍
Thank you!! Yes Miyuki is awesome!! :)
ZX1 or Q3 ..?
Does the face-detection feature work for still photography?
Ein OTA update von der 1.2.1 funktioniert nicht, Sie müssen sich an Zeiss wenden und bekommen eine Datei und dann erst klappen weitere Updates.
Most Important for me

ZX1 is the camera I've been eagerly awaiting. My desire for it hasn't changed, but it wasn't released in Japan🥲︎ I'm searching on international websites, but only occasionally find listings with few accessories, leaving me agonizing over whether to purchase it or not."
Hallo, ich habe eine zu verkaufen.
IT would be nice to hear some local native music ( from Guam ) in your background. For me the Nocticron has more vivid color and a little better contrast. Thanks for share.
nice comparative! Just a reminder: that Zeiss is not a classic "sonnar", it's a kind of modern hybrid design (the old sonnar has as its main feature a cemented triplet on the front side (just 3 groups, but 7 elem., two bonded triplets); the front side on this version is more like a gauss/planar, with the rear section of the sonnar (cemented triplet))
pixii borrowed from the design
Gosh! €3,500. My Goodness, that is expensive.
Thank you for the the review 👍, As a wedding photographer, with the 24-70mm and 70-200mm would you get the 85mm 1.2 or the 135mm 1.8 Plena for the second camera?
I would get the 85mm 1.2 for the second camera, you can move around with that better than the 135mm 1.8 cuz youll be standing too far back, 85mm 1.2 is still good compression :)
@@GuamPhotography thank you
I always wondered who the one person who bought this camera was. lol
lol that would be me :D
Ooo I always wanted to try this camera
I like Miyuki’s interactions with you. She makes the video more entertaining .
Thanks buddy!
7:40 I don't see it, and the eye dropper tool tells me both are a neutral grey with the occasional pixel in the shadows which has 1 higher light value for blue. Must be a weird optical illusion
Got the CS2731 today and packed it up again after 45 minutes, the IPS Glow is just too bad for the price. My current EIZO CX240 from 2012 doesn't have ANY glow and was the same price. It's a real shame seeing a brand like EIZO cheap out on expensive monitors.
I guess we need to move up to the newer CG monitors to not have the IPS glow.
@@GuamPhotography I think personally for me the best next move is OLED, but i'm still unsure about it due burn-in. Then again i'm a low brightness user so that will also hel pa great deal.
1:54 learn from this young lady how to properly hold valuable expensive photographic equipment in hands 👩🦳🤣
Where is your focus point when you are shooting at f/1.2?
Using eye auto focus, and not single AF point.
Colours are beyter on 90mm f2 also shadows controlled better
Looks like an interesting lens. I currently own the Voigtlander 50mm f1.1 and f1.2 and am thinking about a fast 35mm. Thinking of either this or the 35mm f1.4 which is smaller and less expensive as I do not shoot 35mm nearly as often as I shoot 50mm so may not want to invest quite as mush.
I recently just got the CV 35mm 1.4 Nokton Classic MC Version 2, really nice lens.
